He began his career in the data communications industry spending eight (8) years with Digital Equipment Corporation working as a Software Engineer and then moving to a position as Network Architect. In this position, during the late 1970's, he was a member of a small team responsible for the design and definition of the communications protocols of Digital's Network Architecture, DECnet. He was involved in the technical collaboration between DEC, Intel and Xerox Parc which led to the definition of the Ethernet in 1980. |
