Dilithium Advances Streaming Media Technology

Petaluma, CA – February 9, 2006 – Dilithium, the leading supplier of 3G multimedia solutions, today announced VT-Stream™, a streaming media solution providing real-time performance in the delivery of streaming video and content. VT-Stream bridges the gap between circuit-switching technology and packet technology, and leverages the advantages of both. The mobile customer simply dials a single phone number to access streaming media in real time.

Streaming content on wireless networks is typically transmitted over GPRS/EDGE/3G packet-switched networks and quality of service (QoS) can be jeopardized by network capacity, conditions and traffic loads. VT-Stream uses 3G-324M circuit-switching to deliver synchronous guaranteed 64Kbps performance. Customers are able to access high quality live and recorded television, real-time traffic or weather reports, information for home surveillance, portals, and other Internet information.

VT-Stream is built on the interconnectivity of Dilithium DTG 2000 Multimedia Gateway and a Streaming Application Controller (SAC). The DTG 2000 and SAC interoperate seamlessly with an RTSP server on the packet network to provide real-time access to video content. VT-Stream uses standard based protocols to provide a powerful platform for real-time media streaming over wireless networks.

VT-Stream is available now. Dilithium will demonstrate VT-Stream at the 3GSM World Congress 2006, in Barcelona, Spain, February 13-16, 2006.
