Italia Selects Dilithium’s VT-PHONE for Innovative
3G Video Surveillance Solution
Petaluma, CA. – July 26, 2007 – Dilithium,
the leading supplier of 3G multimedia solutions, announced
today that 3 Italia, the Mobile Media Company of the
Hutchison Whampoa Group, has selected Dilithium’s VT-Phone
video telephony software as a key component of Pupillo Pro,
their professional 3G video surveillance solution. The 3G
video solution from Dilithium and leading software
integrator Accenture, will be integrated into 3 Italia’s
Pupillo Pro solution and bundled with a 3G data card and
Pupillo UMTS Video Camera.
This is the first mass consumer video monitoring solution
that leverages the real-time video capabilities of 3G mobile
technology and video handsets. The Pupillo Video camera is
the first UMTS camera in the world able to automatically
answer a standard UMTS video call. Customers make a simple
3G video call from their laptop or mobile handset and can
see exactly what is happening in their home, office or other
location. The camera is power supply or battery powered, so
it can be sited anywhere. The system authenticates the
caller based on the caller ID of the phone and a unique
personal identification number for service access. Pupillo
has a visual field of 58° in diagonal, 46° in horizontal and
38° in vertical and, thanks to an infrared sensor, offers
clear images also in the dark. Some settings, like the list
of the numbers authorized to video call, can be also be
modified by SMS.

VT-PHONE is a 3G-324M PC video-telephony software
application that enables two-way video-telephony calls on a
PC equipped with a 3G data card. Calls can be made to a 3G
handset or to another laptop/notebook with a 3G data card.
Pupillo Pro enables 3 Italia’s customers to easily access
and view real-time video streams from multiple locations
remotely.
