Petaluma, California – August 1, 2007 – Dilithium, the leader in converged
video solutions, announced today that
Saunalahti, a leading provider of Internet and
telecommunications services in Finland, has selected the DTG
2000® multimedia gateway to deliver enhanced
video services across mobile and IP networks. Saunalahti
will use the DTG 2000 with Dilithium’s VT-Stream technology
to provide its mobile customers with access to live Big
Brother Finland video content.
With
Dilithium’s technology, Saunalahti’s mobile customers can
simply dial into a menu screen and press a number to select
different cameras in the housemates’ house, bringing live
Big Brother Finland video footage direct to their mobile
phones. The technology enables Saunalahti to broadcast and
promote the programme across ‘three screens’ – television,
computer and mobile device.
The DTG
2000 multimedia gateway incorporates several patent-pending
technologies including Dilithium’s Unicoding technology for fast efficient
transcoding, which results in better lip synchronisation, as
well as its Video Refresh™ technology that eliminates video
corruption in messaging and streaming platforms. The
gateway system also includes the Mona (Media Oriented
Negotiation Acceleration) standard, which decreases the
session setup time to around one second, comparable to voice
calls.
