New Echovox mobile infrastructure offers subscribers streaming video services via 3G mobile devices
Dilithium, the converged video expert, has announced that Echovox, a leading mobile media solutions provider, has implemented Dilithium’s DTG 2000® multimedia gateway as the core of its new mobile content delivery system, enabling mobile video and content access to Echovox’s 410 million mobile subscribers.
Echovox has built an innovative infrastructure that connects to over 50 mobile operators using Dilithium technology to offer mobile access to video portals, content on-demand, participation TV, and its unique Zong service. Zong is the only web service that enables users to create and launch mobile services in 10 countries and in under 10 minutes – giving users quick and easy access to mobile services and offering operators a revenue-generating opportunity from each transaction.
Dilithium’s DTG 2000 multimedia gateway enables reliable, high quality, real-time streaming of video content to all types of mobile devices. The DTG 2000 incorporates several patent-pending technologies including Dilithium’s Unicoding™ technology for fast efficient transcoding, which results in better lip synchronisation, as well as its Video Refresh™ technology that eliminates video corruption in messaging and streaming platforms. The gateway system also includes the MONA (Media Oriented Negotiation Acceleration) standard, which decreases the session setup time to around one second, comparable to voice calls.
