Petaluma, CA. – August 19, 2009 – xchange Magazine today selected Dilithium Networks as a finalist to receive the Best of 4G Award for its Dilithium Content Adapter (DCA). The DCA, which can bring video to any 2.5G/3G mobile phone, including iPhone, iPhone 3.0, Blackberry and Android devices, is one of only three products being considered for the Best of 4G Enabling Technology Innovation category.
The DCA’s patented audio and video technologies enable the advancement of 4G with true on-demand transcoding, transrating and transsizing of multimedia content, making content simpler for operators and content providers to deliver. Multi-format transcoding is one of the most important challenges for content providers and broadcasters to overcome before 4G and mobile video content can become a reality. Consumers have an insatiable appetite for entertainment content, and transcoding and transrating multiple formats in real-time will be a necessary function for all future mobile video products to be successful.

Nominations were open to all parties involved in 4G technology, products and services, and selected by an independent judging panel of 4G subject matter experts, who will also determine the winners. Awards will be presented on September 16 at the 4G World Conference and Expo in Chicago.
