Dilithium Introduces ‘Galaxy’, the First Complete Mobile Video Suite

Provides service and content providers with a single source for mobile video applications,
adaptation and optimization

Petaluma, CA. – February 10, 2010 –Dilithium, the leading global provider of mobile video infrastructure solutions, today launched Galaxy, an integrated mobile video suite. Galaxy enables service and content providers to deploy an interoperable solution for mobile video applications, adaptation and optimization while providing faster time-to-market, lower total cost of ownership, and reduced investment costs.

“Mobile video has the potential to serve as a core revenue source for service and content providers, but as mobile video demand increases, so do the difficulties associated with deploying it,” said Michelle Abraham, principal analyst at In-Stat. Galaxy provides the video-enabling environment needed to build out any mobile video infrastructure in one integrated and interoperable solution so that providers can deploy mobile video services in a timely and cost effective manner.”

Galaxy offers the most comprehensive coverage of video solution enablers for any mobile video application, on any network.  It supports mobile packet-switched and circuit-switched applications, whether Edge, 3G, LTE/ 4G, wireless, and whether interactive or one way delivery.  Galaxy incorporates Dilithium’s patented technologies, including on-the-fly low latency transcoding, transrating, ultra fast session setup time, mobile video error recovery, smart caching, stream sharing and adaptive streaming, into one solution for mobile video.

“Our goal in creating Galaxy is to make it easy and cost effective for service providers and content owners to take advantage of the revenue-generating opportunities of mobile video,” said Marwan Jabri, Co-founder and CTO of Dilithium.  “Galaxy allows service providers and content owners to pick-and-choose the solutions that best fit their network infrastructure and add as they grow, providing a fast return on investment while serving greater numbers of customers and reducing network build-out costs.”
